单集简介 ...

Steve Shi is one of China’s leading psychotherapists and host of the 史蒂夫说 podcast.  He returns to discuss Inner Wild, his unique project that combines boxing with mental health discussions. We talk about young professionals and couples grappling with pressures of modern society and the importance of physical contact, controlled aggression and building emotional resilience.  We examine the societal effects of emotional suppression in Chinese culture, exploring its ties to the economy and violence among disenfranchised individuals. The conversation also touches on vulnerability, human connection, and the challenges of adapting to a less intimate world.  We reflect on finding balance between optimism and pessimism in an uncertain future.  Finally, we share our own violent fantasies and discuss the meanings behind them.  This episode offers an inspiring look at mental health, culture, and personal growth. ____________________ 下载节目文字版: Episode Transcripts ____________________ If you enjoy this show don't forget to leave a rating and subscribe! 小红书: THD The Honest Drink Follow Us On IG: @thehonestdrink_ Join Us On WeChat: THD_Official Email: thehonestdrink@gmail.com Find us on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, 小宇宙, 喜马拉雅, 网易云音乐, 小红书, Bilibili or anywhere you get your podcasts.

单集文稿 ...

  • One, two, three.

  • Whenever you're ready.

  • Hi, I'm Steve Shi.

  • I'm a psychotherapist, a podcaster and a writer.

  • And I am the guest at the Honest Drink today.

  • Welcome to the show.

  • Steve, this is your second time.

  • What are you excited about this time versus last time?

  • I'm going to redeem myself this time

  • because last time I thought my English was not very smooth

  • and I've been seeing some English speaking clients,

  • so I get a lot of practice.

  • So hopefully this time I'll be more confident, I guess.

  • Nice.

  • Well, maybe that question answered my question.

  • What's your least favorite, favorite thing about being here right now?

  • That I have to speak English here.

  • Because last time I was here I was so frustrated.

  • I. Because of the language limit, I can only Express maybe like 10 of what I wanted to say.

  • If I did Chinese, it's probably 20, so it's a little higher.
