单集简介 ...

Today, we discuss President Zelensky saying that Ukraine is "ready to work under President Trump's strong leadership" to negotiate a peace deal. This comes after the US announced it would pause military aid to Ukraine, which has caused alarm across Europe. Adam speaks to the BBC’s chief presenter, Caitriona Perry and BBC international editor, Jeremy Bowen. And, the US and European stock markets fell after President Trump's 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico began. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said the tariffs are "a very dumb thing to do". We speak to the BBC’s economics editor, Faisal Islam. You can now listen to Newscast on a smart speaker. If you want to listen, just say "Ask BBC Sounds to play Newscast”. • Hello.

  • I've noticed a lot of people

  • and more people than usual saying that at the moment they're finding the news quite stressful

  • because there's just so much of it

  • and it's about really big stuff like war and peace in the continent of Europe.

  • And I always find it in situations like this where there's a danger of kind of information

  • and emotional overload.

  • The best thing to do is to sit down with the people who know what they're talking about

  • and can interpret what's going on in a really smart but really calm way.

  • Kind of like the news version of like a problem shared is a problem solved.
