China's domestic consumption has expanded at a robust pace,
setting several records during the just concluded Spring Festival holiday.
What do these trends indicate about the country's economy in 2025?

As China celebrated the arrival of the Year of the Snake,
the festive atmosphere was reflected in a surge in travel and consumer spending.
During the holiday, more than 2.3 billion passenger trips were made,
with consumer spending hitting a record of 680 billion yuan, or about US$95 billion.
The box office also set a new milestone
with the total sales reaching a historic high of 1.4 billion US dol.

since the beginning of this year has surpassed North America to rank first in the world.
The animated film Ne Zha Tu also became the highest grossing film in Chinese history.
Cultural tourism flourished with a 174% increase in searches for tangible heritage experiences,
while both inbound and outbound tourism grew significantly.
Foreign visits to China rose by 23% and cross border travel increased by 6.3%.
