  • The user base of generative artificial intelligence products is in China had reached 230 million by June this year, highlighting the country's widespread adoption of generative AI driven upgrades across various industries.

  • That is according to to a report on the development of generative AI released by the China Internet Network Information Center.

  • The report shows that China has built a relatively comprehensive A I industry EcoSystem with over 4,500 related companies in the sector.

  • The country's generative A I industry is thriving, with the value of the core sector nearing 600 billion yuan, about US$82 billion.

  • The industry ecosystem spans key areas across both the upstream and downstream, including chips, algorithms, data platforms and applications.

  • As of July this year, more than 190 generative A I models had been registered and live online, offering users a diverse range of options and tailored experiences.

  • China issued a set of provisional management rules for generative A I services in July last year.

  • A key reform resolution adopted at the third plenary session of the 20th Communist Public Party of China Central Committee in July this year also noted that the country will improve mechanisms for developing and managing generative AI.

  • According to a report issued by the China Low Altitude Economic Alliance, China could potentially see 100,000 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft serve as family vehicles or air taxis by 2030.

  • The report predicts that large scale commercialization of the aircraft is expected to drive down costs, making it more accessible to the public.

  • The alliance anticipates that within the next two to three years, China's major cities will complete air transportation networks and supporting ground service facilities for low altitude vehicles.

  • Emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, human computer interaction and digital road infrastructure service networks are expected to facilitate the application of of unmanned air vehicles.

  • The report also highlights the expanding role of drones in logistics, agriculture, emergency rescue as well as urban management and tourism, saying they will be ubiquitous.

  • Established in August and initiated by over 100 enterprises, China Low Altitude Economic alliance focuses on advancing low altitude airspace applications and planning the future of the industry.

  • This is Special English the British Library has expanded its Chinese collection by adding 10 online novels by Chinese authors, including Lord of the Mysteries, Soul Land and the Joy of Life.

  • These novels, originally published on platforms operated by Yue One, a Chinese online literature company, were donated to document the cultural significance and rapid development of Internet literature in China.
