  • You're listening to the Briefing, first broadcast on the 18th of March, 2025 on Monocle Radio.

  • Hello and welcome to the Briefing.

  • Coming to you live from Studio one here at Midori House in London, I'm Andrew Muller.

  • Coming up on today's program, you know.

  • Be talking about land.

  • It's a lot of land.

  • It's a lot different than it was.

  • Before the wars, you know,

  • is the United States preparing to cede Crimea to Russia on Ukraine's behalf?

  • Also ahead, Israel resumes bombing Gaza.

  • We'll have the latest later in the show.

  • Pope Francis publishes a brief meditation on conflict and language and will be in Estonia to find out what the rest of us should be learning about cyber security.

  • And actually, thanks to Russia, we have gotten really good at cybersecurity from the very beginning.

  • That's all coming up right here on the Briefing on Monocle Radio.

  • And welcome to today's edition of the Briefing with me, Andrew muller.

  • At least 400 people are reported dead and perhaps twice

  • that many injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza,

  • the most significant such action since a ceasefire was agreed in January.

  • It is not yet clear exactly exactly what the target was,

  • though four high ranking Hamas officials have been named among the dead.
