Hello, and welcome to the Urban Urbanist, Monocle's program all about the built environment.
I'm your host, Andrew Tuck.
Coming up, we are open for business again here in San Francisco.
We're going to come roaring back.
And so those are three words, but really it's a mantra for our administration.
We head to San Francisco this week to take the temperature in this constantly evolving city on the west coast of the US we speak with the newly installed mayor about his plans for the city, chat to a technology designer turned property developer who sees opportunities ahead, and meet with designers and business owners who are putting their faith in San Francisco's downtown district.
All that ahead in the next 30 minutes right here on the Urbanist with me, Andrew Tuck.
Well, welcome to today's show.
We're diving into the future of the urban environment in San Francisco and I'm joined today by Monocle's own Chris Lord, who has just got back from a trip to the city.
Chris, welcome again to the Urbanist.
Thanks, Andrew.
Let's start off by looking why we thought this was a good time to dip into the San Francisco story.
