I'm Rebecca Kesbi and we begin today in the Middle east where the Israeli military is saying it's attacking Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon after rockets were fired into northern Israel earlier this morning.
It's the first time rockets have been fired from southern Lebanon into Israel
since the ceasefire deal came into effect in November.
In the past few minutes, though, Hezbol have just issued a statement saying it wasn't them,
but there have been regular Israeli airstrikes into southern Lebanon throughout and some Israeli troops remain inside the country.
Yousef Glaser is head of security in the northern Israeli town of Metula.
He described the moment the attack unfolded today.
Around 7:30 in the morning, we woke up to a number of incoming rockets.
There were sirens,
and then the Iron Dome system intercepted a number of rockets that were fired from Lebanon.
We were able to see two fall inside Lebanon.
We immediately got the residents into the shelters according to the home front command.
And as head of security, I made sure we didn't have farmers out in the fields.
We contacted a number of people and communities that we have to look after.
