Hello and welcome to the English likinative podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 11 day one of your English five a day.
The second season.
What are we doing here?
Well you may know
that this is your daily dose of English vocabulary and what you're doing is building a habit which is a really important part of acquiring a language.
It's an important part of any skill building activity.
You have to be able to build habits and listening to a regular podcast episode focused on improving your English is just one of the many habits that you should be indulging.
Now I'm going to fill your drums for the next 12 to 15 minutes.
So let's start with a little snapshot.
Listen carefully.
The concert began with a mesmerising light show that captivated the entire audience and made it impossible to look away.
What followed was a fast paced series of songs that kept everyone dancing but the singer's voice was underwhelming and her lackluster performance failed to match the energy of the band.
Despite this disappointment the suspenseful finale where all the lights suddenly went out before an unexpected guest performer appeared,
made everyone forget the earlier shortcomings.
Okay let's dive into some of vocabulary just like our last episode where we focused solely on adjectives we're going to do the same today starting with mesmerising.
I love this word mesmerising we spell this.
M-E-S-M-E-R-I-S-I-N-G.
Mesmerising.
Mesmerising.
