8 分钟Welcome to the Aida's English Podcast.
My name is Jack and I'm here with my co-host Sochal.
And today we're going to do an idioms episode.
And Sochal, why don't you share today's idioms with us?
idioms are to quit cold turkey, to kick the habit, and jonesing.
So let's start off with the first one, to quit cold turkey.
Jack, what does that mean?
If you quit something cold turkey, it means you just stop doing it immediately.
So like quitting smoking cold turkey means like, I smoke on Wednesday, but on Thursday, zero cigarettes, I'm done.
I go from like 20 to a day to zero.
Just nothing.
Yes.
Yeah.
Or like you go from drinking to not to never drinking again.
Right.
Lots of stuff.
So you use it in a lot of aspects.
And people, a lot of people have like two ways to quit,
which is either they quit cold turkey, or they're kind of a methodical.
They do like a quitting plan.
