49 分钟Hello, and welcome to Business Matters here on the BBC World Service with me, Rahul Tandon.
It's been another momentous day for the global economy,
a series of decisions announced by Donald Trump, having huge implications for the global trading system.
We're going to talk you through them, to guide us through them as always.
We have two guests from opposite sides of the world.
We have Emily Peck, who of course is co-author at Axios Markets.
Emily, a busy day for you or a quiet one?
Yeah, you could say it was a tad busy.
Some things happened over here in the United States.
They certainly did.
And Hanlin, as he's waking up there in Shanghai, China country director for the Asia group.
A lot for people in China to digest.
Absolutely.
Thanks for having me on the show and good morning from Shanghai.
It just happens to be a beautiful day today.
Well, it is a beautiful day in Shanghai and it has been a fascinating day in the United States.
Let's just get into some of what has been taking place because Donald Trump has,
of course, announced that he has suspended tariffs on a number of different countries now.
Emily, what did you make of that announcement?
That those reciprocal tariffs that he was putting in place, that he's now reversed those?
