Bridging China and Germany

China has been Germany's largest trading partner for 7 consecutive years. And Germany is China's largest trading partner in Europe. But talk of de-risking has been on the rise in Germany recently. Last month, Berlin released its first "China Strategy", defining China as "simultaneously a partner, competitor and systemic rival". It has also been reported that Berlin is considering tightening scrutiny against Chinese investment in a bid to "enhance economic security".
