  • Welcome to the A to Z english podcast.

  • My name is Jack, and I'm here.

  • With my co host, Sochil.

  • And today we are in the idiom Academy.

  • And Sochil, you recommended these idioms, and I think these are really interesting ones.

  • They're idioms that use the word finger in them.

  • And our first one is butterfingers.

  • So how would you describe a person who is a butterfingers?

  • Everything slips through their fingers.

  • So, like, if you throw them something to catch, then they drop it.

  • If they're carrying something, it slips and falls out of their hands.

  • It's just kind of a way to say someone who's clumsy and maybe a little careless about things, carrying things uncoordinated.

  • Yeah.

  • When I played sports, if you, you know, threw, uh, in like basketball or in american football or something, and you threw the ball to someone and they always drop it, we would call that person a butterfingers.
