And going to another country was a chance to really explore who I was outside of my friends and family's influence.
And there's so many factors to that.
Like I can find out what really is important to me.
You should always put yourself out there because you never know what could happen.
So we are constantly exploring how to live our best lives.
And one of the things that I have come to believe is the quest.
It just can't happen in a bubble.
Yes, weve got to know ourselves, but also others.
And in a world that has become truly global, its also so important to reach beyond the immediate confines of our friends and family and local community and even country.
There is a giant world out there and so much richness to be discovered, so many insights, ideas, cultures, experiences that can inform how we see ourselves and our place in the world, what we share with others.
And this broader perspective can also have a really profound effect on the work we devote ourselves to and the life and the world we see to create.
So how do you get this global, culturally diverse perspective?
Well, one other thing I've come to believe is that the earlier in life we begin, the better.
Now that can look like taking family trips to different countries, which we've done, or student exchanges, which our daughter has actually done.
But another incredibly powerful path are study abroad programs for college and grad school.
And these extended explorations, they can be incredible ways to immerse yourself or your kid in a powerful, eye opening, bridge building educational experience.
So we got really curious what that might look like, you know, on a detailed level on the ground.
And we decided to partner with the study UK program, which is part of the uk government's wider great campaign for Britain and Northern Ireland to bring you this special sponsored episode with a focus on what it's like to study in the UK, exploring everything from the myriad benefits to finances, application, how UK education differs from the us approaches, and so many other really interesting and important elements.
I learned so much, but we also wanted to learn from firsthand experience.
