So I got a bit of a loaded question for you, but also an important question, actually.
It's kind of three questions in one.
The first, how you feeling about the way this year went?
The second one is what was your role or part in how the year went?
And the third piece is, is there anything about it that you would love to see unfold differently in the year to come?
So we tend to take one of three modes as we head into the end of any given year, rush to the finish, you know, sort of goal striving mode.
Let's put our heads down.
We had big things we want to do in the beginning of the year, boxes to check, things to accomplish.
I'm just going to rush to the finish and try and check as many boxes as humanly possible so I can sneak in as much accomplishment as I can before we turn the page.
That's mode number one.
Then there's mode number two, the checkout mode.
And that's when you're like, you know what?
This has been a year.
Whatever happened, good, bad, indifferent, I'm done, I'm cooked.
I am stepping away, taking a break and going on vacation.
Vacation mode, equally valid.
And then there's that third option.
I call this reflect, integrate and assess.
This is when you say, you know, I got a couple weeks left in the year, I think I'm going to take this time to just get quiet, to reflect, to integrate and assess how everything unfolded, and then maybe drop into review and plan mode.
That's the third mode.
