BBC sounds music radio podcasts hello.
This episode of Newscast is going to focus on foreign affairs because there's a lot happening in the world right now and we're going to zoom in on two particular areas.
First of all, we're going to look at Ukraine and find out what is going on with Ukraine's invasion of Russia.
Yes, ukrainian troops have seized russian territory.
Well, they seized it about a week ago, but they have built on their gains since then and there are loads of questions to be asked about that.
And also on Monday afternoon, Vladimir Putin, the russian president, had a televised meeting that reveals quite a lot about how he and the russian system might be feeling about what's going on then.
The second place we're going to go to is the Middle east, because on Monday we woke up to news headlines that the US had sent a nuclear armed submarine to the region and that they were going to send a new aircraft carrier there at double quick speed.
And this is while people are waiting to see if Iran is going to retaliate against Israel after Israel apparently assassinated one of the leaders of Hamas in Iran at the end of last month.
And it's before the resumption of talks about a potential ceasefire in Gaza.
So there are loads and loads of dots to join up, but they are very important dots and the drawings are very important and we've got some great people to help us make sense of it all.
